Ashanti Douglas, popularly called Ashanti and was born in Glen Cove New York United States on the 13th of October, 1980. She is a singer songwriter and actress from her native United States. Ashanti became famous as a teenager and eventually signing with Murder Inc. Records in 2002. That same year she appeared in Fat Joe's What's Luv? She also appeared on Fat Joe's song What's Luv?! and Ja Rules track Always On Time, both of which have been hugely successful. She became the first female artist to have the top two spots within the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at number one and What's Luv? What's Luv?
